Where in the world did May go? June sped by in a blur. And July is almost gone. How did that happen? Where did the time go? The weeks and months, it seems, just melted into each other. But each single day seemed endless.

Last week I bumped into my neighbors Tim and Andrea as I was out walking my pup Poppy in the morning and they were leaving for work. We stood around talking for a few minutes, and then we each proceeded with our day. It was a long and tiring day ï¿½" for me, at least. Filled with work and play, stress and pressure, spirit and pleasure.

Late that same evening, I was out with the dog for her bedtime stroll and once again saw Tim and Andrea as they were getting home from work, dinner, and a couple of sets of jazz at a music club. Again, we hung around and chatted. I said something like, â€œWhen I saw you guys last weekâ€¦â€ and Tim interrupted me saying, â€œThat was this morning!â€

How could that be? It seemed like forever ago. Time is such a slippery scoundrel. It is impossible to pin it down long enough to grab hold of it. It just keeps slithering away.

Time is a paradox, at once temporary and permanent, external and internal, objective and subjective. And it is so confusing. Days that are weeks long and filled with 10,000 million things. Weeks, which seem like seconds, fleeting and ephemeral.

As Albert Einstein explains it, "When you sit with a nice girl for two hours, it seems like two minutes. When you sit on a hot stove for two minutes, it seems like two hours. That's relativity."

Time is at once universal and intensely personal. It surrounds us and is, at the same time, deep within us. Itâ€™s surging rhythmic force moves the entire world and us, as well. The throbbing tempo of the universe reverberates in each beat of our heart.

Its clear cadence, the repeated patterns of light and dark, high tide and low, growth and death, evident in the natural order is echoed in our own bodies, our biorhythms, our blood. Our internally alternating cycles of activity and rest, energy and mood, sleep and dream, hunger and hormone. The oscillating pulse of the planets surges through our veins and we vibrate in time with the stars.

Duplicitous in its definitions, time flies and time stands still. Time passes, but is forever. Time creates. Time maintains. Time destroys. We save time, we waste time, we keep time, we lose time, we kill time, we make time, we take time out.

I know there's probably been many articles put up about tailored clothes in Bangkok and this is probably going to be one of the millions. But one thing's for sure. I would not write anything up if it didn't mean something or if it didn't make such a difference to me, because for sure, this clothing store in Bangkok did.

Crown Tailors was a tailor shop that I discovered in Bangkok through various threads on the internet. I thought I'd pay a visit down to see what was so great about it and to be honest, I was alarmed to see that it was what it was, i.e. what everyone else had said was true. They really do make great clothes and offer some amazing service. What I thought was really great was how down to earth everything was. Sam & Mana were really chilled out folks and knew exactly what they had to offer and was ready to help at all steps.

All I had known basically was that we needed a couple of fittings and that we had to burn the fabrics to test that they were woolen. Both those were completed and I seriously have never owned nicer shirts or suits before. My shirts fit me great, my suits have got me non stop compliments. Its quite cool also now that I can re-order shirts at will, whenever I want because they have my measurements on hand.

The one thing that I can say best about this business is that it is very well run. Everyone seemed to know what they were doing and talking about and everything turned out great. My suits and shirts looked and felt great and I was overly impressed with their sales service.

Overall, a great tailors, and one that I would recommend whole heartedly.

When looking for a trainer, you need to decide what your goals are. They may change depending on what you and your horse decide to do, but at least have an idea of what you want to do. Do you want to show or just take lessons? Do you want to trail ride and just want to learn how to control your horse and ride better?

WHERE to look for a trainer

You can start with your vet, horse-related magazines, local tack store, friends or the classified advertisements in your local paper. Tack stores usually have a bulletin board, where they allow barn owners and trainers to post announcements when they have stalls available and if they're accepting new clients. If a tack store has been established for a while, they can usually tell you about the local barns, trainers and their disciplines. Compile a list from everyone and give the trainers and/or barns a call.

Pleasure or show?

Showing your horse is quite different then just riding for fun or taking lessons. If you're serious about showing and winning it requires a different mindset then taking lessons and going trail riding or hanging out with your horse. Its also much more expensive. Show barns usually charge more for boarding, but usually have a trainer available if the barn owner doesn't train and show horses. Make sure the trainer has shown in the discipline you're involved in.

VISIT THE BARN

After you get a list of trainers, call them to set up an appointment. Go to the barn they work out of. Check out the facility. If the barn isn't in great shape, don't worry. Instead, look at the horses - are they well fed and cared for? Do they have plenty of grass and turnout? How's the fencing?? Is the barn neat and orderly? Does it look and smell clean? MEET THE TRAINER

It's helpful to watch a trainer teach a lesson, so try to schedule a time when a few clients will be at the barn. Talk to him or her in between lessons. Find out about their personal riding experience. How long did they show as a kid or adult? Where and on what circuit? If they still show as a professional, that will take away from their time to teach. And if they're on the road with advanced students a couple months a year, they may not be the right trainer for you. And find out how long they've been teaching. If they're new to teaching, they may have more time for you and your horse. Just because they're new, doesn't mean they don't have talent. Ask the trainer for references and if they're reluctant, don't enlist their services. And finally, remember finding the right trainer is a personal choice. You need to like and trust the trainer you choose. They should be willing to answer your questions about their training philosophy and what they're doing with your horse. Lastly, go with your gut instinct. If you click with a trainer who's relatively unknown, that will turn out to be a better choice then going with a well-known trainer that everyone knows, that you don't click with. Riding and having a horse should be fun. If you do your homework beforehand you'll have more options and make the right choice for you and your horse.

BUITENZORG, a hill station in the residency of Batavia, island of Java, Dutch East Indies. It is beautifully situated among the hills at the foot of the Salak volcano, about 86o ft. above sea-level, and has a cool and healthy climate. Buitenzorg is the usual residence of the governor-general of the Dutch East Indies, and is further remarkable on account of its splendid botanical garden and for its popularity as a health resort. The botanic gardens are among the finest in the world; they origin-ally formed a part of the park attached to the palace of the governor-general, and were established in 1817. Under J. S. Teysmann, who became hortulanus in 1830, the collection was extended, and in 1868 was recognized as a government institution with a director. The palace of the governor-general was founded by Governor-General van Imhoff in 1744, and rebuilt after being destroyed by an earthquake in 1834. Buitenzorg is also the seat of the general secretary of the state railway and of the department of mines. Buitenzorg, which is called Bogor by the natives, was once the capital of the princess of Pajajaram. Close by, at Bata Tulis (" inscribed stone "), are some Hindu remains.
